Technology Courses

Technology Courses: General Information
Television Production is a course designed for students thinking about taking "communications" courses in college and those just wanting to learn more about video production in general.  It is taught in the new Chelsea Broadcasting Multimedia Center facilities at The Chelsea School.

Utilizing various techniques and hands-on training, students become competent in specific areas of video and multimedia production as specified by the Maryland Department of Education through Maryland Standard for Competency-Based Education.  The first-year class (TV-1) is centered on studio production, using the television studio and control room equipment. In the second-year class, students work with video production computer technology and in "real-world" field production environments. TV-2 students use mostly digital post-production and editing equipment.

All students are expected to join the local Skills USA student organization to learn more about business and working in the real world.  Field trips to local media operations and speakers from various video-related businesses are part of the “real world” learning process. Parents are always welcome and encouraged to join us for these extra activities.
